Cugó Gran Menorca is delighted to introduce three-night “Movement Retreats” to their Wellness Retreats programme in 2017. Hosted by “Specialists in Movements” Diego Degiovanni and Elena Baracco, the Co-Founders of 2Move, the retreats will run from Friday 12th May – Monday 15th May, and Friday 27th October – Monday 30th October 2017.

The Movement Retreats at Cugó Gran are an exciting addition to their specialist Wellness Retreats programme which already includes the highly-acclaimed “The Gut Makeover Retreat” hosted by leading nutritionist and best-selling author, Jeannette Hyde.

“The Movement Retreat” at Cugó Gran is based on Diego and Elena’s vision of wellness: Live Now – Stay Good – Move Better. To ‘Live Now’ is about the here and now, focusing on mind and body in balance. To ‘Stay Good’ is to learn how to nourish both body and soul. To ‘Move Better’ is to get the most out of the body through progressive and targeted physical training.

The retreat is designed to train the body to achieve its maximum potential as well as to achieve greater energy levels, improve resilience and affect wellbeing – emotionally, mentally and physically. This is achieved through a series of personal training sessions and yoga and Pilates classes combined with delicious and healthy meals based on nutritional principles.

“Human movement, in every possible form, is our passion. Our approach to movement is progressive and functional. Quality always outweighs quantity. Our training methods are the results of years of study, body research and training, supported by international certifications. We are thrilled to be collaborating with Cugó Gran Menorca and are very exited to promote our concept of “Movement” to a wider audience,” say Diego and Elena.

Diego and Elena founded 2Move in 2014 when they moved to Menorca from Italy. They are both registered yoga teachers by Yoga Alliance Professionals, as well as highly skilled Pilates teachers and certified personal trainers.

In 1987, while blending family and career, Gayle Heron set out to develop a truly unique range of all natural spa oriented skincare products, a range based on the ancient plant knowledge held by the indigenous people of Australia.

The products are formulated using sustainably wild harvested, pure Australian botanicals and organic ingredients with the guidance of the Indigenous plant knowledge & healing principles. They are proudly Australian made and owned & certified cruelty-free.

LI’TYA’s unique treatments and spa rituals incorporate massage therapy, active facials and nurturing body wraps as well as scrubs and centring spa rituals, designed to profoundly connect the individual with their own innate healing abilities.  Products and treatments have been developed to the highest standards so that the guest may feel the benefits long after the treatment is complete.

This rhythmic body massage is inspired by traditional Australian Aboriginal techniques which work to balance and re-align energy flow, enhancing mind and body wellness.  A combination of pressure points and spiralling movements ground and uplift, working to relieve muscular aches and pains while leaving the body renewed and refreshed.  A choice of native aromatic oils is prescribed to address your individual needs, to rejuvenate, harmonise or detoxify.

The Camí de Cavalls (GR223) is an ancient path of 186 km (116 miles) that encircles the island of Menorca.  It crosses gullies, rocky zones, valleys, torrents, wetland and farming areas and connects the watchtowers fortresses, lighthouses, trenches and cannons which are distributed along the coast.  This coastal path leads to numerous coves and idyllic spots and it is the best way to discover the natural wealth and heritage of the island.  Menorca, a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, gathers almost every existing ecosystem in the Mediterranean, with a diverse collection of flora and fauna as well as a variety of endangered species or species with substantial ecological value with 7% of plants on the island being endemic.

The path is divided in 20 different stages, each of them between 5 and 14 km. All the start and arrival points can be gained access to by road, making it possible to cover one or more stages of the path at a time.  The north of the island is rugged and steep with the landscape consisting of hills and valleys, streams and wetlands with beaches of pebbles to that of orange sand.  The South, however, is flatter and more homogeneous than the north with fine sandy beaches surrounded by pines.
